Accessibility at Repair Queue
Last reviewed October 14, 2026
We want everyone to be able to use Repair Queue: the people who work in the shops that use it, and those shops' customers on the booking, repair-tracking and estimate pages we host for them.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
Where we are
Repair Queue partially meets that standard. Some parts don't fully meet it yet. They are listed below, each with a way around it, and we're working through them.
Known problems (as of October 14, 2026)
Staff app
When some forms and buttons can't do what you asked, the reason shows in a pop-up message rather than on the form, and keyboard focus isn't moved back to the form, so the next Tab can start again from the top of the page or dialog. These include Add a shop and Edit shop, Refund, Return a faulty part, Ask other shops, Update the price? and Is this ticket paid?, a trade-in's What did it sell for? and a ticket's Internal notes.
Way around it: The pop-up message is read out as it appears, and what you typed is kept. Press Tab, or Shift and Tab, to move back to the form.
Fix planned.
If something doesn't work for you
- If you're a customer of a shop: email us at support@repairqueue.co with the subject “Accessibility”. We'll help, and with your permission we'll pass your request to the shop. You can also contact the shop directly, using the phone number on the page if one is shown.
- If you work in a shop that uses Repair Queue: open Help and support (the round button in the corner of the app), go to Talk to a person, and tick “This is about accessibility”. Or email us.
- Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do and, if you're comfortable, the device, browser and any assistive technology you use. We use what you tell us about a disability or assistive technology only to look into and answer your report, and to keep a record of how we handled it.
- We aim to reply within 2 business days, and within 10 business days to fix the problem, give you a way around it, or tell you our plan and a date.
Payments
Checkout and billing management pages are provided by our payment processor, Stripe. If you can't use them, email us at support@repairqueue.co and we'll help you another way.
Other formats
We'll send our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy or this page as plain text, as a tagged PDF or in large print on request, and we'll work with you on any other format you need.
How we check
- In October 2026 we checked the staff app with an automated accessibility checker (axe), in both the light and the dark theme, and by keyboard.
- We checked the website, the sign-in and sign-up pages, and the booking and repair-tracking pages with the same checker, on a wide screen in both themes and on a phone-sized screen.
- We reviewed the code of the booking, repair-tracking and estimate pages and the in-store wall screen against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and looked through the rest of the code for some of the problems these checks found.
- Automated checks run on every change we make. They catch some problems, such as a form field or drop-down with no name.
- We haven't tested with screen readers yet. When we have, we'll list here the screen readers and browsers we used.
- We haven't had an independent audit yet.
The known problems above came out of these checks.
What we don't do
We don't add accessibility “overlay” widgets, and we don't try to detect whether you use assistive technology.
How it's built
Repair Queue relies on HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS and JavaScript. It works best in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox.
